What a wild game. I only wish I could have seen it instead of working and catching up on the highlights.

As Van knows, it was a
Wild Night with that
Ariz/GB game.
The highest scoring NFL postseason game ever was won by Arizona over Green Bay, 51-45 in OT on a fumble returned for a TD. Winning QB Kurt Warner (rumored to be retiring at season’s end) was 29 for 33 passing, 375 yards and 5 TDs. Arizona had leads of 17-0, 24-7, 31-10 but Green Bay came back. Aaron Rodgers threw for 403 yards and 4 TDs…and lost.
Now after reading that, if I told you that another QB would go 4 for 10, 34 yards with an INT, what would you think? That is team got creamed? Think again, as Joe Flacco’s Ravens crushed the Patriots 33-14 as the running game and defense got it done. On the first play from scrimmage, Ray Rice, the ex-Rutgers RB, ran for 83 yds. and a TD. He had 159 yards for the game, and co-hort Willis McGahee chipped in with 62 more.
Next week sees the Cowboys at the Vikings, Cards (Warner) at New Orleans (Brees) for the NFC. The AFC sees Jets at SD and Ravens at Indy. I’m torn who to root for with my Steelers out. Let’s see, rooting for the Cowboys is something I almost never do. I’m down on wishy-washy (as far as retiring) Favre. I have no trouble with the Cards winning. Part of me wants the Saints—especially because of their poor history (and the Cards have that as well) and Hurricane Katrina; but I can’t root for Shockey.
AFC. No to rooting for Ray Lewis. I couldn’t root for the Pats or Belicheck. I don’t care for the Ryans, Rex or Buddy. Too full of hot air for me. Indy and SD I have no trouble with.
So I guess Cards/Indy or Cards/SD would be ok by me.
Baseball: A surprise. Aroldis Chapman, the sought-after Cuban refugee, signs with the Reds. Really, did you expect him to wind up in Cincy? Red Sox, maybe, Yankees, maybe, maybe the Angels or Marlins…but Cincy?
The Post has more rumors about Jeter possibly tying the knot with Minka Kelly in November 2010.

Come this time next year, will Minka Kelly be best known as Mrs. Jeter?
