A report from 950AM ESPN Radio in Philadelphia has reported that the Eagles have traded for Buffalo Bills 27 year-old Pro-Bowl LT Jason Peters. The deal has been finalized per a team source and it appears the Birds will be giving up the 28th pick in the first round of this year’s draft, as well as a 4th rounder, and an undisclosed 2010 draft pick.

Rumors of a potential deal between the teams were initially reported late this morning by ESPN’s Sal Paolontonio and John Clayton. As the afternoon rolled around there were reports on 950AM that Jason Peters was on his way to Philadelphia to discuss terms of a new contract with Eagles’ brass. Reports are that Peters is looking for $11 million per year.

This is a huge pre-draft move for the Eagles. Peters is 6’ 4” - 340 lbs. The team has targeted rebuilding an aging offensive line, and has made 2 big moves by trading for Peters and by signing free agent Stacy Andrews.

Along with Sean Andrews, Todd Herremans and Jamaal Jackson, the Eagles now have the potential to be one of the biggest and best offensive lines in football.

Looks like Donovan McNabb will have protection. Next up on the list: a couple of playmakers.
