Three Shots Fired at McNair From a Distance; Kazemi’s Shot Points to Suicide

The finality of Steve McNair’s life saw girlfriend Sahel Kazemi fire four shots at him, three from a distance, then take her own life with a single gunshot to the head. That’s the latest report on the situation, as The Tennessean reports that the autopsy results conclude what many already felt - murder-suicide.

“All the autopsy tells us is that her wound is potentially self inflicted,” said Bruce Levy, state medical examiner. “In these cases, the cause of death is obvious. The manner of death a little trickier. We like to have as many factors as possible before we make a determination.”

Three of the four shots at McNair came from more than three feet away. The final shot Kazemi fired upon herself was a “contact shot” meaning the gun was touching her head when the shot was fired.

As for McNair’s wife - Mechelle McNair, not knowing about the affair that her husbund was having with Kazemi, a source told the New York Daily News - “She’s blindsided by this. She’s crushed. Her whole world is shattered.”

Cops believe McNair and Kazemi died about 2 a.m., nearly 12 hours before their bodies were found
