Ground Hog’s Day All Over Again for the Packers
Well, that’s what it seemed to me like…I walked outside after the game…a Full Moon!…walked back inside, and JoAnn was cooking the same meal from the Monday night game, four weeks earlier…I blinked…Halloween was the night before. I dressed-up as the “Crypt Keeper” and scared the heck out of many young children… But, let’s face it…on Sunday at Lambeau Field, Brett [read more...]

Packers Keys to Beating the Vikings Monday Night
Beating Minnesota (-3.5)… First off, the Vikings can be beaten. The 49ers had them on the ropes and allowed them to escape… Minnesota’s play-calling is at this point, very predictable. Run the ball as much as possible and occasionally, have Brett throw a play-action pass. Makes perfect sense, when you have a powerful offensive line and the best running back in the [read more...]

Gambling Thoughts and Some Picks – Week Three
My four favorite choices in ascending order: 4. Pittsburgh (-3.5) @ Cincinnati…a lot of bad-mouthing Big Ben and the “lowly” Steelers this week… 3. Atlanta (+4.5) @ New England…there’s no way the “mighty” Patriots could ever lose two-in-a-row-Right? 2. Indianapolis @ Arizona (-2.5)…Two immobile QBs who can throw…who has the better defense? Special Teams? Intangibles, including the injury report? 1. Tennessee (+2.5) @ New [read more...]

Four Reasons for the Packers Awful Setback to the Bengals
1. Offensive Line gives up six sacks, five by Odom…to expound on this, without Greg Jennings, the Packers passing attack was anemic. Ryan Grant, 14 carries for 46 yards and a lost fumble. Grade for O-Line: F 2. Turning Cedric Benson into an All-pro: 29 carries for 141 yards. We need the added depth of B.J. Raji-next week at St. Louis [read more...]

Some Gambling Thoughts and Picks for Week Two
Early in the week, I considered penning an article on the woes of our O-Line, but, when I read the avalanche of negative stories, thought I’d avoid “piling on.” So, here goes… Gambling thoughts for Week 2 Number one, I don’t see anything which appears to me a lock (versus the spread) this week. Therefore, if I do place a wager, it will [read more...]
