Taking a closer look at the Lions trade for QB Shaun Hill
The 49ers have confirmed the trade of Shaun Hill to the Lions for one of the Lions’ 2011 seventh round picks. The Lions have two seventh round picks in the 2011 Draft due to trading QB Kevin O’Connell to the Jets last August. This transaction is a great example of how opportunistic GM Martin Mayhew is. Last summer when [read more...]
Here’s a vote hoping Tomlinson picks the Vikings
The Jets wined and dine LaDainian Tomlinson yesterday in hopes of signing him to replace the void left by Thomas Jones. The Jets are reportedly the favorites to sign L.T., but he is headed back to San Diego to mull the decision. While the though of adding LaDainian Tomlinson sounds appealing, if I were Mike Tannenbaum I would [read more...]
Washington inks former Chiefs back Larry Johnson to a 3-year deal
Newly signed Redskins RB Larry Johnson had a turbulent 2009… he turned 30, changed teams mid-season, went from a starter in KC to a backup for Cedric Besnon in Cincinnati who went on to have a breakout year, and Johnson for the first time in his career failed to get into the endzone. From Johnson’s NFL Career [read more...]
Redskins with decisions to make in terms of “old” running backs
The Redskins have a choice to make for themselves, and it amounts to this: Do we want two 30 year old running backs in decline on our 53 man roster next year? After releasing Ladell Betts last week, I have to think that the Redskins have made up their minds that they are committed to going younger and will look to draft [read more...]
Could the Vikings really trade RB Adrian Peterson?
Nothing makes me worry about the state of public education more than reading comments from football fans on some of the bigger sites out there. I guess not every blog can have a group of such well-informed and reasonable readers as this one does. I bring this up right now because I have noticed quite a few Vikings fans calling for [read more...]

San Diego puts RB Darren Sproles on the trading block
It looks as if the Chargers are now looking to trade running back Darren Sproles, this after he was at first not given a tender, then the team did a 180 and gave him a first-and-third tender on Thursday. The 26-year-old had three touchdowns last year and rushed for 343 yards. If the Chargers were to keep him, they would [read more...]
Detroit Lions Free Agent Target List
Every offseason I approach my free agent and draft board as if I were a member of the Lions front office. I try to factor in resources, time limits and other teams interest in my free agent rankings. I don’t take the Madden approach where I just target the best players out there and gradually work my way down the [read more...]
