Reports: Whitehurst Done Deal for Seattle

Both ESPN and ProFootballTalk report that the deal between the San Diego Chargers and the Seattle Seahawks for third-string quarterback Charlie Whitehurst is complete. Both media outlets report that the Seahawks will fall 20 spots in the second round of this year’s N.F.L. Mike Bell has reportedly signed an offer sheet with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to his agent Josh Luchs. The contract, worth $1.7 million, of which $500,000 is guaranteed, is for one year. According to Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times, the Seahawks released safety Deon Grant Monday. Grant, joining the Seattle franchise in 2007, recorded eight interceptions while wearing a Seahawks uniform.
