The NFL has announced the names of the 53 players who have been granted early eligibility for the 2010 NFL draft. The Gridiron Gab’s Second 2010 NFL Mock Draft

I have long said that I wouldn’t move the Vikings out of the 32 spot in my mock until I had a reason to believe they would be drafting anywhere else.  I almost put them down at the 30 spot. I elected to keep the faith, however.  Here is my latest mock: Rams – Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame:  The Rams get [read more...]

Bengals WR Chris Henry on Life Support Following Accident

Bengals WR Chris Henry is on life support following an incident earlier today. Fox Sports reports on the situation, which appears to be dire for the troubled wide receiver: Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry is on life support after falling out of the back of a pickup truck in North Carolina, a source has told FOXSports.com’s Alex Marvez. The [read more...]

Week 14 Preview: Seattle at Houston

Despite sharing the same record, Seattle and Houston have had very opposite seasons. Houston came out of the gate strong, winning five of its first eight, a franchise best. Seattle sputtered, losing five of its first eight. Fast forward, Houston has lost four straight. Seattle has won two straight. In order for Seattle (5-7) to make it three straight wins, the Seahawks need to shut [read more...]

NFL Gridiron Gab’s Mock Draft 2.0

So there were some interesting changes to some of my college prospect rankings this week after a barage of great games.  Also, I added a second round to the mock, just to try and keep things from being too redundant.  I’ll cut right to it: ROUND ONE Bucs –  Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska Rams –  Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame Browns –  Eric Berry, [read more...]

The Gridiron Gab’s First 2010 NFL Mock Draft

So I had a reader request that I take a stab at doing a 2010 mock draft. This is a fun exercise but, after reading it for little more than entertainment value, you can pretty much discard it as pure B.S. There are a few reasons for this. First, the 2009 season is only half over meaning the draft order will [read more...]

An NFL “Did You Know?”

California, Miami, Florida and DeMatha Catholic High School. If you’re of advanced age like myself, then you probably remember back in the day when Johnny Carson did this schtick on The Tonight Show entitled, “Carnac the Magnificent”. In the bit, Carson wore this mock Arabian costume – complete with big Arabian hat – and would utter three points of reference, [read more...]

Goodell Says Vick Can Return to the Field to Play for Eagles in Week Three

The NFL Commissioner has spoken, and at the end of the day, all new Eagles play toy Mike Vick will miss is two regular season games. Commissioner Roger Goodell made the announcement today that Vick will be allowed to take the field in week three of the regular season. At first Goodell said that Vick could have been [read more...]

Reid Says It’ll Be Close for Vick to Make it to Preseason Game Tonight

It’s going to be one interesting night in Philly, as Mike Vick will make his debut for the Eagles. Or will he? It’s going to be close for Vick to get back from his bankruptcy hearing that is taking place in Virgina. Reports say that Vick is set to play the 4th quarter tonight. PFT says that Andy [read more...]

Though Only Preseason; A Critical Step Forward Tonight For Seahawks

Denver and Seattle will be metaphorically tied at the hip all season long. Every Kyle Orton interception will send Seahawks fans into hysterics. Every Knowshon Moreno carry broken out for a big gain and taken to the house will make Seattle cringe. That’s because Denver gave Seattle its first round pick for the 2010 NFL Draft during the 2009 Draft in exchange for [read more...]
