A bet, and this day in 1969 remembered.
Turns out President Obama and the Canadian PM had a bet on the gold medal hockey game. Since the USA lost, a case of Yuengling beer (Since 1829, America’s oldest brewery ) goes to Canada.
Yuengling is from Pottsville, not far from where I live. Besides traditional lager, they make several different brands.
Should the USA have won, President Obama would have received some Molson (Canada’s oldest brewery).
March 1st. The day always reminds me of that day in 1969 when the Mick made it official. Hearing the retirement news on the radio, this at-that-time-seven-years-old boy cried his heart out.
Team bonding outing tomorrow for the Yankees. Last year it was a billiards tournament. Wonder what this year brings?
Update: Apparently the bet is supposed to be this way, where the losing person sends some of his local or national “treasures” to the winner. However reports are that Obama will spring for the Molson to go to the Canadian PM. If the US won, the Canadian PM would have sprung for the Yuengling to go to Obama. Atypical.
Update II: A day at the video arcade is what it brings===for all except Joba, who apparently has caught the flu bug.
