Aceves looks to strengthen his case for the #5 spot.

The Yanks put pressure on Brett Myers of Houston in the first inning of today’s spring training game, but Myers escaped. Gardner had a leadoff single, but was picked off first by Astros’ catcher Humberto Quintero. Myers then walked Nick Johnson and Mark Teixeira, but A-Rod hit into a 6-4-3 DP. Good point by Chad Jennings at LoHud: It was Gardner’s [read more...]

Dolphins Host free agent OLB Rashad Jeanty

The Dolphins have signed guard Richie Incognito, and now are moving on to other holes that they are looking to fill this off-season. The Dolphins are reportedly hosting outside linebacker Rashad Jeanty down in Miami this week. Jeanty is from Miami, and would provide some depth at the linebacker position, only weeks after the Dolphins released linebackers Akin Ayodele, and Joey Porter, [read more...]

Tim Tebow an option for the Browns?

The Cleveland Browns are one of five teams that will privately work out Tim Tebow. With Holmgrens ability to help Quarterback turn into great QB’s in the NFL are you warming up to the possibility of Tebow in Cleveland? There is no question in Tebows’ ability to lead a football team. Tebow leadership is needed here in Cleveland and would [read more...]

Eagles McCoy still using the advice of former teammate Westbrook

After releasing running back Brian Westbrook, the Eagles lost not only a great player, but a great mentor. LeSean McCoy definitely has the potential to be a talented running back in this league, but he has to be shown the way. I think spending a year with Brian Westbrook was extremely helpful, and [read more...]

March Madness, Madness: The Refs Help Michigan State Advance over NMSU

Ten minutes after I wrote my Friday article about the officiating bias – aka, game-fixing- in the Villanova-Robert Moriss and Wake Forest-Texas games, the producers of Mike and Mike in the Morning decided to devote two full segments of the radio-television simulcast – separated by commercials – to a #8 vs. #9 Thursday game. That game was Wake-Texas. Oddly, Doug Gottlieb, who [read more...]

Yanks lose SS S.T. night game, 6-2. Mitre stays in hunt.

The Yanks lost their split squad night game to the Rays 6-2, but Sergio Mitre stayed in the hunt for the #5 starter job. Mitre went 5 innings, gave up 2 runs, struck out 7, gave up just 2 hits and one walk. He and Aceves have really done well for themselves this spring training. Chad Gaudin however, seems to have [read more...]

Toughts on Tim Tebow when it comes to the Vikings

Vikings execs were in Florida yesterday for Tim-Tebow-Fest Forida’s pro day.  While I think that there are a number of guys that worked out yesterday (i.e. Spikes, Hernandez) that are more likely to have Minnesota as a landing spot… people want to know about Tim Tebow. I loathe writing this article because of the unrest it is [read more...]

Can new Cards QB Anderson push Leinart for the starting job?

It’s definitely too soon to answer the question posed by this article’s title, but below is a comparison of the two quarterbacks’ stats. While there is no clear starter, two things are certain.  First, Leinart is the clear favorite going into summer camp.  Second, there will be an open competition because Ken Whisenhunt has consistently stated [read more...]
